MortMetrix ("we," "us," or "our") provides mortgage tracking and amortization tools that help you understand and manage your home loan. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using MortMetrix, you agree to the practices described here.

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text).
• Mortgage and financial data — loan details you enter, such as purchase price, down payment, interest rate, term, property address, and payment history. This data is required for MortMetrix to function.
• Usage data — how you interact with the app, device and browser information, and log data, collected automatically.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the MortMetrix service, including amortization calculations and dashboards.
• Authenticate your account and keep it secure.
• Respond to support requests and communicate with you about your account.
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse.

We do not sell your personal or financial information. We may share information with:

• Service providers who help us operate MortMetrix (e.g. hosting and infrastructure), under confidentiality obligations.
• Other users you invite — if you grant someone viewer access to a loan, they can see that loan's details.
• Legal authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MortMetrix or others.

We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections and hashed credentials — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your account and loan data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes.

You can:

• Access and update your account information at any time.
• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Revoke a loan-sharing invitation you've granted to another user.

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect your account (for example, CSRF protection). We do not use cookies for third-party advertising.

MortMetrix is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the effective date above or, where appropriate, through the app.
